Drupal at the centre of the Internet of Things

Drupal has always excelled at being a conduit for data coming in, processing it and pushing data out to a wide variety of sources. With the imminent release of Drupal 8, this stands to become an even greater feature.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly growing and evolving around us, myriad devices collecting nuggets of data from a wide variety of sources that must be collected, stored, analysed and displayed in a meaningful manner.

If all of these sources could be correlated, cross referenced and presented together or in comparison with each other, some of these data sources could start to prove very interesting indeed.

Sounds like a perfect role for Drupal!

In this hands on session we look at the best modules, methods and techniques for pulling data from several popular IoT devices and services. We will then look at creating a personalised IoT dashboard to aggregate, standardise and make all this data meaningful.

This session will help those wishing to make sense of the world of data around them as well as those wishing to pitch business partnerships with global startups emerged in the IoT space. We will cover Drupal 7 and 8.
